Ngamba Chimps Eating
The Ngamba Chimpanzee Santuary provides shelter for orphaned chimps (mostly orphaned when poaching was more prevalent in Uganda). Here is a video of chimps during feeding time.

More Ngamba chimps playing after after beeing fed.
After seeing the chimps in "captivity" at the Ngamba Santuary, it was completely different experience seeing them in the wild. Way up in the trees. They've been known to come down and hang out with humans, but it was raining so they stayed up in the trees.
It was really cool to see the chimps travelling along the tree tops, especially since we were right below them.
Early in the morning, on our way to trek for more chimps, there was a group of lions just relaxing.
After the cool encounter with the lion, we ran into a herd of elephants. It has just rained and the morning light was really nice (it was about 7am).
Here's another clip of a single elephant grazing. Love those flapping ears.

Fuzzy video of a chimp
Here is another shot of a yawning hippo, right before Jen jumps in front of the camera to get her photo!
This is Ruhondeza, the silverback. We had mistakenly separated him from his family so he politely asked (via a grunt) if he could move through and get closer to his family. The cottage where we stayed was named after him. It means "sleepy" since he apparently sleeps a lot.
It's almost as if he was performing for the crowd.
